Abstract: As a threat for countries’economical, political and social life money laundering activities are gradually increasing. Especially with globalization and the development in information and new payment technologies, money laundering methods changed from traditional to methods using Internet and smartcards. The introduction and increasing application of electronic commercial transactions, electronic banking, Internet and e-money poses a threat to traditional due diligence systems in the international campaign against money laundering, because of the opportunities for money laundering, that these new instruments can provide. Thereforein this paper besides traditional and known money laundering methods, how new laundering methods can be used and what can be done in this matter arediscussed.
