Abstract:
This article explores the situation in the rural environment in terms of the phenomenon of globalisation, taking as a model an outlying area of the province of León. Although a priori it might not appear to be the case, globalisation is actually stimulating rural areas into seeking new means of development to achieve the economic, social, environmental and territorial convergence that they aspire to. The need to reach a certain level of competitiveness within the framework of globalisation has led to the proposal and implementation of many innovative solutions that, despite their inherent difficulties, are a response that is fully adapted and/or adaptable to all territories according to their characteristics and conditions.
