Abstract: This work intends to identify the determinants of competitivity in cooperatives. The results obtained from a sample of 49 cooperative managers and representatives from the cooperative movement point out that the joint effect of the orientation towards the customer and the participation of the members in the performance is the main determinant of the competitivity. This finding highlights the importance of relational capacity as the key capacity which managers of these firms should have got.
