Abstract:
The process of interfirm cooperation is embedded in a social structure which is considered in this article as an essential element. The first part is devoted to the construction of a framework based upon the notion of "relational contracting". The second part describes the results of an empirical survey conducted on 94 managers that focuses on mutual social links. Its aim is to show the importance of relational activity to trigger interfirm cooperation.
