Changement et théorie néo-institutionnelle:le cas des relations collectives françaises

Abstract: (VF)Cet article vise à éclairer et instruire le défi lancé aux institutions dans le champ syndical français. Les concepts néo-institutionnels sont mobilisés pour analyser ce processus du point de vue des stratégies des acteurs plutôt que de leurs effets immédiats sur le champ. Le cas montre que l’attaque peut résulter de minorités pourtant dépourvues à l’origine de ressources. Ainsi, «l’union syndicale solidaire» s’organise en rompant avec l’isomorphisme en vigueur dans le champ. Elle se distingue de la structure pyramidale communément admise pour s’inspirer de la forme réticulée. Elle bricole à cette occasion des éléments culturels inspirés de préceptes syndicaux anciens et de tendances lourdes contemporaines. Indirectement, elle déplace la frontière du champ.(VA)This article sheds new light on the changes observed in institutions of French industrial relations. We use concepts from neo-institutionalism to understand this process from the actor’s viewpoint rather than from the perspective of its immediate impact on the field involved. The analysis shows that changes do not only come from actors who are centrally located in the field. Marginalized actors who possess only limited resources may also question institutions. Accordingly, the “union syndicale solidaire” mixes old precepts and modern principles of management. Members mimic networked companies instead of traditional pyramidal firms and, by doing so, shift the limits of the field.
