Returns to Scale and Optimal Output in Beekeeping in Malaysia

Abstract: The objective of this note is to determine the returns to scale and the optimal output of a sample of Malaysian beekeeping data, employing the ray-homothetic production function. Our results suggest that, more than 90 percent of the beekeepers in the sample experienced increasing returns to scale.
