Evolución del turismo hotelero y extra-hotelero en las regiones españolas, 2001-2008

Abstract: Analizamos la evolución del turismo hotelero y extrahotelero en el período 2001-2008, correspondientes a las regiones y provincias españolas, utilizando las estadísticas de pernoctaciones hoteleras como indicador para el turismo hotelero y el número de viviendas secundarias como indicador del turismo extrahotelero. Presentamos una síntesis de resultados de varios modelos econométricos del turismo regional y provincial en España y estimamos un modelo econométrico para el incremento del turismo extrahotelero en las provincias españolas.

We analyze the evolution of hotel and extra-hotel tourism in the Spanish regions for the period 2001-2008, the former by means of statistics of overnight stays at hotels and the later by means of the number of secondary dwellings. We find that the Spanish regions have shown a positive evolution in those indicators of tourism activity, and we analyze some factors that have impact on this regard accordingly to several econometric models. Finally we present an econometric model for the increase of extra-hotel tourism in Spanish provinces.
