Abstract:
Structural transformations in the Polish economy which have taken place as a result of the realization of the government economic programme, implemented since the beginning of 1990, are discussed. Restructuralization is understood here mainly as structural transformations of ownership and of the firms involved in economic processes, and as the elimination of ineffective economic units. These processes are discussed from a national perspective, but regional variations are also presented. The article's conclusions comment on the slow speed with which the thus defined structural transformations are taking place.
