Other Things Equal: Milton

Deirdre N. McCloskey

Eastern Economic Journal, 2003, vol. 29, issue 1, pages 143-146

Abstract: This column talks about the person, and work of, Milton Friedman, whose 90th birthday was recently celebrated at the University of Chicago's Quadrangle Club. Milton has been these many decades now consequential. He exhibits the classical virtues in a life of the mind. He shows how to be courageous in adversity (for much of his career he was an outcast in economics); in personal dealing just; in companionship loving; temperate; filled with faith and hope and prudence. A very Milton Friedman.
