These theories include the allegedly inflexible wage structure that causes unemployment and the claim of poor labour market flexibility on the whole in Germany. The author criticises a narrow research approach which is biased towards rigidity and over-regulation or misregulation, and which does justice neither to the complex issues to be investigated in the programme nor to the current status of national and international research."
