This paper aims at identifying the specific elements that appeared in the relation between the complex phenomenon of migration and the management of human resources as theoretical and practical effort to handle the consequences of migration. The end purpose of this paper is actually double: theoretical as well as practical. According to the first aspect, the paper aims at presenting a synthetic image of the two phenomena: migration and management of human resources. Analysing from the viewpoint of the second aspect, the paper presents a series of measures necessary in this field. In order to fulfil the objectives, in the first part of the paper we intend to present some general considerations regarding the following aspects: 1. The up-to-dateness and the intensity of the issue; 2. A second step we intend to take consists in the analysis of the dimensions, ways and structures of the Romanian migration; 3. Institutional and legal preoccupations regarding the migration phenomenon not only on national but also on European level. Place of management within all these preoccupations; 4. Effects of migration upon the labour market and the role of management; 5. Conclusions and suggestions emerging from the paper.
