Abstract: This study examines the relationship between Organization- Based Self-Esteem24 and the three dimensions of burnout i.e. emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduced personal accomplish-ment.20 Our hypothesis was that the three dimensions of burnout would have a negative impact on OBSE. Data collected from 215 employees working in a heavy manufacturing plant in the Midwestern part of the United States supported this hypothesized relationship. The organizational implications of these results and directions for further research are discussed.
