An analysis of lifestyles and health in Taiwan

Abstract: This article investigates the relationship between lifestyles and health in Taiwan, and also examines the determinants of health outcomes. The analysis is based on data obtained from the 2001 National Health Interview Survey in Taiwan using ordered probit models. The results indicate that those who have healthier lifestyles tend to have better self-assessed health. In addition, gender, age, income, education and social support are also important factors affecting health outcomes.
