Abstract:
In this issue of the Policy Review Section , Brian Ashcroft of the Fraser of Allander Institute, University of Strathclyde, assesses some key economic issues raised by the Scottish Parliament and how such challenges can be addressed. In the second article Nick Gallent of the Department of Planning and Landscape, University of Manchester, Rhys Jones of the Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences, University of Wales Aberystwyth and Chris Allen of the Department of City and Regional Planning, University of Wales Cardiff, discuss the relationship of the Welsh Parliament to local government and local authorities and the implications for the success of devolution. Finally, Christian Rogerson of the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, University of the Witwatersrand, considers the emerging space economy of the post-apartheid South Africa and the likely impact of regional policy changes.
