Abstract:
In this paper I shall study the political crisis resulting from President Goulart’s option to reforms, his shift toward the left, with enfasis on the question regarding profit remmitance rule. The internal class struggle and the internacional crisis produced an environment very hostile to popular fashion reforms, as well as to authonomous development routes to the Brazilian capitalism. There was no longer a possibility of goals conciliation between the ideal of internalizing the dicision centers and the internacional capital’s interest. The upshot was the colapse of nacional-developmentalism as a feasible alternative.
