WORLD DAIRY PRODUCT TRADE: ANALYSIS WITH A MIXED COMPLEMENTARITY PROBLEM FORMULATION

Charles F. Nicholson and Phillip M. Bishop

No 20754, 2001 Annual meeting, August 5-8, Chicago, IL from American Agricultural Economics Association (New Name 2008: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association)

Abstract: World trade in dairy products is being transformed by trade policy liberalization and technological change in dairy processing. The mixed complementarity problem formulation to modeling product-specific dairy trade can overcome a number of the limitations of existing optimization models, and can facilitate desirable extensions to previous analyses.
