No 19410, 2005 Annual meeting, July 24-27, Providence, RI from American Agricultural Economics Association (New Name 2008: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association)

Abstract: This paper examines the determinants behind households' decisions regarding non-timber forest products extraction. Data from Mexico is used to estimate a selection model. Results show that individuals with low levels of human capital are more likely to extract than other individuals; the same is true for individuals from poor households.
