IMPACTS OF INCOME DISTRIBUTION ON MARKET DEMAND

Diansheng Dong and Capps, Oral,

No 20996, 1998 Annual meeting, August 2-5, Salt Lake City, UT from American Agricultural Economics Association (New Name 2008: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association)

Abstract: This study develops a procedure to estimate income distribution effects on market demand. The proposed procedure contains two steps: estimation of the underlying income distribution and estimation of market demand. Empirical findings show that the income distribution effect is a significant factor in the demand for meat products.
