Abstract: This report offers an English summary of the Landbouw-Economisch Bericht 2003. It presents a survey of the economic state of Dutch agriculture and horticulture. First, attention is paid to general economic and political developments and to the development of the agricultural complex. Next, the report deals with the rural area and with environmental issues. Following a description of the production structure and production factors in agriculture, profitability and income formation in the various subsectors are analysed.
