Ce papier s'intéresse aux différences dans la deuxième composante entre les Etats-Unis et le Canada. Une attention particulière est portée à la dimension régionale, soit aux deux plus grandes provinces canadiennes, l'Ontario et le Québec. The standard of living of a country or region (its real GDP per capita) is the product of two broad factors: labour productivity (real GDP per work hour) and labour input per capita (work hours per capita). This paper investigates differences in the second of these two components, labout input per capita, between the United States and Canada. Particular attention is paid to the regional dimension, namely to the two largest Canadian provinces, Ontario and Quebec.
