La investigacion economica en España en 1990-2003: indices multiples de calidad y limitaciones de los rankings parciales

Economic Development from University of Santiago de Compostela. Faculty of Economics and Business. Econometrics.

Abstract: This paper present a provisional overview of Economics research in Spain, having into account several criteria and not only the rankings based on the number of pages published and/or citations in a few journals, because the latter method presents important limitations and contradictions and generally it is not enough to have into account all the richness of the research in this field. This paper will be followed by a more general analysis of economic research rankings and expenditure in OECD countries, to appear in English in this series. Economics research in Spain has reached a high degree of development during the period 1990-2003, with important contributions in national and international journals, books, congresses, doctoral dissertations and on-line working papers.
