Vote Aggregators: Some Axiomatic Characterizations

Somdeb Lahiri ()

No 2000-07-03, IIMA Working Papers from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Research and Publication Department

Abstract: In this paper a model for the aggregation of ballot profiles is considered. In this framework three new results are obtained: the characterization of oligarchic aggregators, the characterization of the plurality aggregator and the non-existence of a vote aggregator which is anonymous and yet preserves proximity.
