The provision of public goods from agriculture: observations from

Sergey Rabotyagov and Hongli Feng

Staff General Research Papers from Iowa State University, Department of Economics

Abstract: We examine US agri-environmental policies in the context of public goods provision. We investigate the challenges which are present in providing public goods from agriculture and the policies that are implemented and could be implemented to procure such goods. Thinking of agri-environmental policies in terms of provision of public goods provides a useful framework for evaluating the portfolio of current policies as well as for suggesting new approaches.
