Marx after Marx after Sraffa

Alan Freeman ()

MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany

Abstract: This paper was first presented at the conference on value of The Laboratory for Social Critique, Rome, May, 21, 2002 and subsequently at the 2002 conference of the Association for Heterodox Economics, July 2002. This is the most complete version, presented to the 2002 conference of the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, September 2002. The Rome conference staged a debate on value theory involving Andrew Kliman, Alan Freeman, Mino Carchedi, Gary Mongiovi, Fabio Petri, Duncan Foley, and Ernesto Screpanti. The article was originally written for this discussion. The article contains an initial response to Mongiovi’s critique of the TSSI presented at the Eastern Economic Association and subsequently printed in the Review of Radical Political Economy [Mongiovi, G (2002), Vulgar Economy in Marxian Garb: A Critique of Temporal Single System Marxism, paper to the 2002 conference of the Eastern Economic Association; Mongiovi, Gary. 2002. Vulgar Economy in Marxian Garb: A critique of temporal single-system Marxism, Review of Radical Political Economics 34:4, 393–416.]
