Abstract:
This study analyses factors affecting farmer decisions on land consolidation in Yemişli village of Karataş town of Adana Province in 2003. A questionnaire study covering 45 farms was carried out for this purpose and factors affecting farmer decisions were analyzed. According to the factor analysis results, it were explain 5 main factors affecting farmer decision. It were explaned by main properties of farmer, social activiteis of farmer, standard of living and relationship with environment and adoptaion of high agricultural technolgy and kind of authority of family. Farmer decisions about land consolidation can be solved repidly acording to those factors. According to the factor analysis results, it was concluded that if existing problems are not solved rapidly, this situation might affect attitude of the farmers living in other consolidation areas. It was concluded that adoption of the farmers land consolidation was at the medium level. However, slow pacing investments adversely affect farmers’ opinions. A more efficient cooperation between research institutes and universities is required during pre-investment feasibility studies
