ASSERTKY: Stata module to assert unique dataset keys

David Kantor ()

Statistical Software Components from Boston College Department of Economics

Abstract: assertky will sort the data and assert that a given varlist is a key for the dataset -- that is, whether the values in the varlist uniquely identify observations. This can be convenient when you wish to simultaneously sort the data and test for whether varlist is a key, such as in preparation for a -merge- or certain -by- operations.

Language: Stata
Requires: Stata version 8
Keywords: sort; unique; key; identify; id; isid; assert; assertky; assertkey; assert key (search for similar items in EconPapers)
