PRECMD: Stata module: programming utility for prefix commands

Abstract: precmd is a programming utility that facilitates the parsing of prefix commands. Briefly, precmd mname1 mname2 : string returns he part from string up to the first colon : in mname1 and the the part after this colon in mname2. If string does not contain a colon mname2 will be empty. For those with Stata v6 on an internet-accessible machine, install by typing .net cd http://www.fss.uu.nl/soc/iscore/stata/ then .net install precmd
