Abstract:
This study aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of warehousing activities and remove manual handling by designing and developing a warehouse management information system. Our methodology is based on the waterfall model with six steps: analysis, system design, implementation, integration, operation and maintenance. The system was formulated as Excel add-in, then developed as software using Python for front-end, JavaScript for backend, SQL for the database and Figma for the user interface. The system's efficiency is illustrated using a practical case study from a helmet company in Vietnam. The results show that the system satisfies the stakeholder's demand and improves warehousing activities such as long-life saving data in the system, real-time tracking, automatic updating, removing 100% input errors caused by human factors, reducing 90% time of report generating, and so on.
