Conversion in Russia

On June 24, 1998, the government of the Russian Federation [RF] approved the Federal Dedicated Program for the Reconstruction and Conversion of the Defense Industry for 1998-2000. Although this event did not attract widespread attention, it was far from an ordinary one, because, without exaggeration, the conversion of the defense industry can be considered to be one of the main components of economic reform in Russia.
