Abstract: This research shows the results of the evaluation of some agricultural policies in a rural village, using the Village Computable General Equilibrium Model (Village CGEM) programmed in the General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS). Three types of policies were simulated: elimination of the Income Support Program of Agriculture (PROCAMPO), the increase in the price of agricultural products and livestock products. With respect to total household income, the results suggest that a policy of monetary transfer directly to agricultural households is more effective than a policy of agricultural productivity. It is concluded that the methodology of village CGEM is a better tool in the analysis of rural economies than the methodologies within the multisectoral village models.
