Abstract:
Building a single digital market, as a key element of European Union strategy has required, among others, the development of a common, unitary and coordinated framework for the systematic achievement of community statistics, regarding the informational society. As a result, it can be said that, especially in the last two decades, it has gradually developed a new field of the official statistics. The statistics of the informational society allows the comparative evaluation of the overall state and evolution of the digital economy and also of each Member State; establishing strategic objectives; monitoring community policies and progress for adjusting future behaviors.
