Abstract: Abstract Blockchain is one of the transformative technologies that can provide multiple benefits to electronic commerce. Its decentralization, immutability, and transparency can help strengthen trust, efficiency, and inter-organizational collaboration in many e-commerce contexts. The versatility of blockchain and the large scope of e-commerce business models and applications open up a variety of novel approaches to utilizing blockchain technology in e-commerce. Current research in this domain demonstrates numerous potential benefits, risks, and avenues for innovative forms of inter-organizational coordination, customer information, and security increase. Yet, current insights are still anecdotal and lacking a common understanding of key concepts. This topical collection presents five articles on different foundational insights into blockchain technology in e-commerce and contributes to initial insights into a dynamically evolving research stream in networked business.
