Abstract In this final chapter we shall illustrate some of the very simple facts concerning ordinary differential equations and variational principles. These subjects are among the most beautiful topics in mathematics and surely among the most useful tools for science. Our aim here is to give just a flavor of their beauty and of their relevance in science.
