Abstract:
This paper investigates the impact of a conditional cash transfer on child nutritional status in Brazil. We use data from "Bolsa Família" Research Impact Evaluation. "Bolsa Família" is a conditional cash transfer program focused on Brazilian poor families. In order to evaluate the average effect of the program we adopt the Propensity Score Matching, under the assumption that program participation is based on family observed characteristics. We found no evidence of a program impact on the children aged 6-60 months nutritional status.
