Abstract:
Institutionalist economists develop a conception of the firm as an entity, with its own life, above its elements. These authors worry about the financiarisation of the firm. On the contrary, through their essential characteristics, cooperatives are defenders of the firm as an entity, rather than a nexus of markets. Thus, deepening the meeting between cooperative world and institutionalist economics is a promising way of research.
