Abstract: The development of competences and the strengthening of learning in individuals are essential objectives for the academy. For this reason, various institutions have implemented new teaching-learning methodologies based on gamification, in order to achieve their objectives of educating integral professionals, aspects that are relevant for higher education institutions such as the Universidad Industrial de Santander, who has adopted them in the Galea Laboratory, a space created for the development and application of new teaching-learning methodologies. In this way, this document addresses the process of developing a strategic plan, to renew aspects of the laboratory, at time that designed and applied various playful to the student community. To achieve this, a survey was implemented and applied to various actors in the UIS community, a process supported by other universities. The results obtained gave a clearer notion of what the Laboratory means for the academic community, data that allowed to renew the mission, vision and values of the laboratory, as well as the design and execution of new gamification activities, which enhance the competencies and learning of the students.
