Abstract: In this paper, I intend to unravel how the "revival" of Confucian values (as Singaporean leaders used to call it in the 1980s) is currently used par Chinese Mainland rulers to overcome Chinese economic ills, to foster a more socially balanced economic development and to promote political and social stability.
