Gender in employment policies and programmes what works for women?

Sriani. Ameratunga Kring

ILO Working Papers from International Labour Organization

Abstract: The ILO works with developing countries to promote employment, income and decent work opportunities for all women and men, in keeping with the SDGs, but in particular, SDG 5 – Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls; and SDG 8 – Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all women and men. This report has reviewed and compiled selected examples of gender-responsive (inclusive) employment policies and programmes that underpin ILO’s work, as well as examples of good practice from other organizations, recognizing that collaboration and partnerships on a global scale will be required to achieve the SDGs.
