Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to produce an exploratory survey for 1998 of the scientific contributions of representative economics research groups in France, based on the EconLit database, using tree indicators: 1) overall visibility, 2) net production, and 3) international presence. Results indicate a clear dichotomy between two major categories of representative groups, raising serious questions about the way the public university operates in France until that time.
