Abstract: The article deals with the economic situation in the 14 largest cities of Germany using four Na-tional Accounts indicators to describe the economic power and the income situation of these cit-ies. Considerable differences between these cities as well as remarkable shifts in the ranking of the individual indicators could be revealed, and explained with the help of simulation models and specific informations.
