Abstract: This note aims to present a simple algorithm to generate a more disaggregated variable for education to Brazilian PME – Monthly Employment Survey, in the version applied to from 2002. The originally variable presented on PME microdata (VDAE1) is broken down into four categories of education and the proposed routine create a new variable with information ranging 0 to 11 or more years of study.
