International Journal of Innovative Research and Scientific Studies, 2025, vol. 8, issue 12, 175-188

Abstract: This study explores the symbols of nature in the poetry collection Nard al-Nass by the Iraqi poet Adnan Al-Sayegh through a hermeneutic approach that aims to uncover their semantic and artistic dimensions. The research seeks to highlight how natural symbols are transformed into cultural signs and meanings that carry psychological, political, and existential dimensions. Through these symbols, the poet reflects the anxiety of the poetic self and its fluctuation across political, social, and historical levels. The study employs a hermeneutic method, integrating symbolic and semiotic analysis tools, to reveal the multiplicity of meanings and the semantic openness that nature’s symbols offer within the text.
