Abstract:
The Slovak Republic is threatened by many risks, mainly of natural or social nature. Their existence constantly affects Slovak’s security environment. Consequences of emergency events negatively threaten life, health, and the property of citizens, and also the environment and cultural heritage of the country. This article provides an overview of emergency events in the Slovak Republic. The main purpose of the paper is to identify the foremost kind of emergency events threatening regions of the Slovak Republic. Findings and conclusions are based mainly on historical data and statistics.
