Abstract: Economic growth implies, at microeconomic level, a process of analysis and adaptation of the business climate, which requires continuous tracking of transaction costs. In this regard, our paper aims at identifying these transaction costs at the firm’s level, respectively the theoretical aspects of transaction costs and their analysis from a fiscal perspective, a comparative analysis of them in Romania and Moldova and some countries in the South East Europe. The methodology used will be a descriptive one, consisting of gathering data and information from the specialized literature and practice. Results of the analysis show that transaction costs, determined in our case, by the costs of compliance with tax legislation, influence the activity of the firm: the higher tax compliance costs are the more transaction costs grow, so the company results will be diminished.
