Abstract:
Official statistics emphasize the importance of SMEs and their contribution to the development of the national economy. Even if they possess a high degree of flexibility, unfavourable external environment factors have a negative impact on small and medium business development in the Republic of Moldova. The global economic recession, political instability and legislative fierce competition are just some of the factors that aggravate the financial situation of SMEs and even lead them to bankruptcy.
