Abstract:
This article aims to analyze some aspects of the interconnection between economic prosperity and environmental conservation as a primary activity in the support of sustainable development. Romania, in order to implement environmental strategy developed the first National Action Plan for Environmental Protection in 1995, which is a tool for implementing environmental policies, by promoting, supporting and tracking of the most important projects with significant impact on the application and enforcement of the environmental legislation. To contribute to the development of less developed region Romania must invest in the development of effective environmental management systems necessary for the protection or exploitation of natural resources in order to improve the quality of public services for the population and create a competitive business environment.
