Innovative growth strategies and regional revitalization of a small coffee farm: A survey of Revense coffee farm as a micro-mill in Costa Rica

Abstract: 本稿では，コスタリカ共和国のチリポ山脈にあるブルンカ地方，高度2000m の高地にある小規模なコーヒーファームがいかにして，規模を拡大し，第２次産業も取り込んで成長し，世界のコーヒー・ディストリビューターと取引を行なうようになったかに関する，イノベーティブな成長プロセスを描いている。ポイントは，周辺のファームを巻きこむことによる規模の拡大，マイクロミル化による第２次産業の取り込み，地の利を生かした特徴あるコーヒー豆の生産と特殊な処理方法による製品差別化，テロワール化，外国ディストリビューターとの関係性強化 が挙げられる。インタビュー対象となったリカルド氏は，それをPatience & Passion と表現する。これらの結果，周辺のコーヒー農園は，コーヒー単価の向上を通じて，豊かになりつつあり，地域創生につながっている。
