Abstract: The main objective of this paper is to study and analyse the concept of the market mechanism as seen by Ibn Taimiyah. The paper will also attempt to compare his views with those of some other Muslim thinkers and Western writers until mid-eighteenth century. The first section is devoted to the analysis of Ibn Taimiyah's views and the last two sections are meant for comparison. --
