Abstract: The contributions of Dr. Hasanuz Zaman and Mr. M. Akram Khan in the Winter 1404/1984 issue of the JRIE (pp.51-61) are timely attempts to recognise the importance of defining Islamic economics. Since the definitions of Islamic economics proposed by these two scholars will be discussed below, it seems appropriate to reproduce them here. --
