Abstract: Using the paper of Al-Suwailem (2016), this paper explains the basic concepts that may influence price differential between two types of a commodity and the Shariah rule for that. While the distinction drawn by Al-Al-Suwailem between the necessary and the luxurious part in the same commodity is quite insightful, I have argued that the mathematical derivations and the results emerging from them need to be reconsidered. تعليقًا على بحث سامي السويلم اقتصاديات ربا الفضل نحو نموذج تحليلي موحد لأنواع الربا (2016م)، توضح هذه الورقة المفاهيم الأساسية التي تؤثر على فارق السعر بين نوعين من السلع وحكم الشريعة في ذلك. فالتمييز من قبل السويلم بين القدر الضروري والقدر الكمالي في السلعة نفسها نظرة ثاقبة. تم التوصل في هذه الورقة إلى نتيجة مفادها أن الاشتقاقات الرياضية والنتائج المترتبة عليها بحاجة إلى إعادة نظر.
